It’s that time of the year again! We are all counting down the days until summer break.
But, I often catch myself and realize what I’m actually counting down to. I have to pause and realize what that actually means, and maybe I should stop and soak in these last few days of the school year.
Too soon it will be the last morning I greet my students at my classroom door, the last day I spend in the classroom with them, the last day I watch them playing together on the playground, and the last afternoon I wish them a good evening on their way out of my classroom door to catch their bus or car ride home. I will soon miss these days!
When God first told me He wanted me to become a teacher – my first thought was “Woah hold up, no way!” No way I could leave my ultrasound job that I loved, no way I could teach children all day, and no way I was fit for that job. I questioned, “Are you sure about that, Lord?” Well I always knew not to question God’s plans. I am so glad I didn’t! It has been the most fulfilling two years of my life since becoming a teacher.
Just know, when God is calling you to that next adventure, pushing you to that next chapter, do not hesitate! I don’t know what that next thing is for you right now, but I do know that God has big plans for you and He wants you to follow Him in all of your ways.
Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Jesus Christ.”
God will supply your needs, even when you may think you’re not good enough or don’t have what it takes. He thinks you are good enough for His plans. If I had never said yes to following my calling to teaching, I would have missed out on some amazing years and some amazing students in my life.
My prayer today: Thank you Lord for the many opportunities you provide that push us to be the best version of ourselves. Thank you for never leaving my side. Thank you for always suppling my needs. I pray this summer brings all educators, students, and parents of students a much needed relaxation period. I pray we come back in August revived and fulfilled with strength for another year. Thank you, LORD! Amen.
I say all this to say – God has you, God loves you, you ARE enough, keep pushing through, there is no better you – than you!
Deuteronomy 31:8 – “The Lord goes before you and will be with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged.”
