Testimony

The bad stuff.

The good stuff.

It all makes up who you are.

The bad choices.

The good choices.

They are intermingled in an unimaginable way that only a grace giving God could make beautiful.

The bad days.

The good days.

They are all part of your testimony.

Your testimony.

Your story.

Your script.

Keep letting God write.

Don’t give up now.

Somebody needs you.

Somebody needs you to say I’ve been there and done that. Someone needs to know that with the power and grace of an almighty God you are still standing and still smiling.

The good always outweighs the bad because God is the author of this story.

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12

Victory

Webster’s Dictionary has two definitions for the word victory.

1. The overcoming of an enemy or antagonist.

2. Achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against the odds or difficulties.

The last two weeks have been hard – no doubt. To move forward – to get through the day to day – I hold fast to God’s word. God’s word, embedded with grace and hope and promise of a brighter future.

My sister’s and I cling to praise and worship music – beautiful melodies full of love and triumphs through God’s unfailing love.

There’s been a constant the past few weeks. Every single time I turn the radio on the following song is playing: 🎼I’m gonna see a victory, I’m gonna see a victory, for the battle belongs to you, Lord🎼

God’s amazing like that. He speaks to us all day everyday. If we will slow down and listen to Him, He will whisper sweet truths of His beautiful redemption story straight into our hearts. It’s a story of unimaginable pain and grief intricately woven with endless hope and infinite grace. It’s a story of victory – a victory so immense that you’ll never experience anything like it this side of Heaven.

I don’t know what battle is raging in your life right now, but I can confidently say this to you – the victory belongs to God. You have to believe it. You have to trust Him.

He always wins.

Let Him lead the way.

Let Him fight for you.

Grief is

Grief is a fog.

It’s a state of forgetfulness.

Why you stood up.

What you were going to get.

Who you were going to text.

It’s crying for no reason.

Because you have to leave your sisters.

Because your husband is going to the dentist.

Because your kid is staying with a friend.

Because you’re stopped at a red light.

Grief doesn’t make sense.

It punches you in the gut.

It’s bittersweet.

Because the good times are now bigger.

But they are a thing of the past.

God is bigger than grief.

God holds you steady.

And in the midst of deep sorrow God still provides a joy unspeakable that is literally bubbling in your soul.

And in the midst of questions and confusion God truly provides a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Don’t do life without God, y’all.

Cling to Him.

Run to Him.

Let Him hold you.

17The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;

he delivers them from all their troubles.

18The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:17-18

Love God.

Christianity isn’t complicated. It’s actually pretty simple.

Love God with all your heart.

Love God with all your soul.

Love God with all your mind.

Love God.

Everything else will fall into place.

The words you say and when you say them.

The things you do and how you do them.

God will direct you, guide you, and He will walk right beside you.

Let God infiltrate your soul today. You’ll never have to wonder or wander again.

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37

We can.

The other day three different women sent me three different messages about God. It seriously made my day – changed my day. Obviously.

Man, they were excited – which made me excited.

▪️an uplifting Bible verse

▪️an amazing God story

▪️an incredible podcast

Y’all, let’s do more of that. Let’s purposefully spread God’s word, and while we do it – let’s get excited. Let’s get pumped.

God is exciting, and we should be excited that we get to serve Him. We should be spreading His word, and His love, and His joy, and His stories like wildfire.

Because we get to.

Because we can.

Because that’s what we were created to do.

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,” Hebrews 10:24

Surrender

If you’ve been playing hide and seek with God you might as well surrender now. After all, He’s going to find you, and He’s going to win.

What are you hiding from?

A calling

The truth

Your purpose

God’s perfect plan for your life

It’s time to stop running, y’all. He’s not going to stop seeking you. He loves you more than you could ever imagine. You’re His.

Give up.

Give in.

Give it all to God.

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” Luke 15:4

Life’s crazy.

I was gonna say if you’re stressed and you know it clap your hands, but then I figured you’d be too tired to lift your arms.

Life’s crazy.

It’s exhausting.

Days feel never ending yet not long enough.

Bills

Jobs

Chores

Diets

Lists

Commutes

I’m just not quite sure how people make it without Jesus. The good news is He is right by our side, and He is rooting for us every step of the way.

Y’all, don’t do your day-to-day without Jesus. Invite Him in. Let Him get your through the crazy.

“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” Psalm 94:19

Sunshine.

Yesterday morning I heard something that I hope sticks with me every single day for the rest of my life.

The sweetest lady I know – like never stops smiling – looked at the child she was dropping off and she said the following words: make your own sunshine.

Y’all.

This lady has been through more trials than any one person should have to in a lifetime.

Hard trials.

But she chooses to make her own sunshine every single day. She chooses a smile, and she chooses to pass that on to others.

Life’s hard. The days are long and the soul can grow weary, but we get a choice.

We get a choice. I’m going to play that on repeat.

And I’m gonna choose sunshine.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Testify.

Don’t ever be afraid to admit how broken you truly are. Your brokenness – your testimony -may be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

They may need to hear that it’s OK.

They may need to hear that someone else has in fact been there and done that. They may need to hear that it doesn’t make them less of a human being.

You may be the vessel that God uses to let them see that He can and will put their pieces back together in the most beautiful way.

Don’t miss out on being the one because of shame or doubt or hurt. Your brothers and sisters in Christ need your testimony.

They need who you were and who you’ve become. They need you.

“I will praise you to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify of the wonderful things you have done.” Psalm 22:22

Change.

Hey sister.

May I challenge you this week? May I double-dog-dare you to make some changes that not only change your life but also impact and enhance your ministry for Jesus.

He needs you.

He needs your story.

He needs your talents.

This Christian life isn’t glamorous, and it certainly isn’t easy – but man it’s worth it. Making a lifestyle change, whether large or small, isn’t for the faint of heart.

It’s going to be hard.

It’s going to be different.

It’s going to be exhausting.

But commit anyway.

Put in the hard work anyway.

Stick to your guns.

God loves you, girl. You are His.

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” I Corinthians 9:24-25
