January’s cold, dismal weather can oftentimes lead to a cold, dismal attitude. It just makes you feel blah, which then makes you feel even more blah. It’s so easy to sink into a slump of the “I don’t want to’s”.
If you find yourself sinking deeper and deeper into a pit of solitude that no one else is allowed inside of, let me challenge you. Step out and start serving. Seriously. Grab your dry shampoo, throw on a hoodie, and get going.
If you are serving God somewhere, no matter how big or small, then your mind doesn’t have time to be down in the dumps. All of your focus, all of your thoughts, will be on doing what God needs you to do – and that’s a good, good place to be.
Don’t let satan get your goat. Step up, step out, and start serving.
“27 Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece.[a]” – Proverbs 16:27
“26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” – John 12:26
