Sometimes not so fond memories from the past pop into my mind out of nowhere causing a cringe-worthy reflex like no other. The thought, “What the heck was I thinking,” pops into my mind, and I’m left wishing that I could go back and have a do-over.
The thing is when we surrender to Christ we are granted a do-over. He forgets all the dirty. He forgets the filthy and the drama and the downright rebellious attitude – even when we can’t.
Things of the past may linger for a while, but eventually that’s what they become – just things from the past. They are not a part of our new identity. They are no longer a defining marker in our every day life. They are no longer our struggle but one that Christ took from us.
It’s a fresh start, guys. A do-over like no other.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
