Ugly words.
We’ve all been victims of them. We’ve all said them. It’s shameful really, and I’m just as guilty as the next.
It’s human nature, but that’s no excuse. It doesn’t make it ok.
We’ve got to let Jesus be bigger than our mouths. We’ve got to try our absolute best not to be a spreader of ugly words, of ugly labels, of ugly condemnations.
We have to be the person that models that behavior for our kids, our friends, and anyone else we interact with.
Today, let’s make a conscious effort to spread words of affirmation. Let’s spread words of love, hope, and faith.
And if we can’t do that maybe we should just bite our tongue. After all, self-control is a fruit of the spirit.
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
