“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

– Ephesians 2:10

Can We?

Y’all.

Can we give the women we come into contact with today a break?

Can we just remember that everyone has a bad day sometimes? Can we just bear in mind that every once in a while they won’t be able to smile because if they do their face and heart will crack wide open? Can we remind ourselves about the possibility that her alarm didn’t go off and neither did the coffee pot, which sent the entire morning spiraling out of control? Can we extend the hand of grace to the tired and weary women that probably haven’t slept in days, yet they have an insurmountable pile of laundry waiting on them?

Can we?

That break, that glimpse of understanding, may be exactly what someone needs to shake the weight of the world off their shoulders – if even for a moment.

“not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” – Philippians 2:4

Running on Fumes

Dear tired lady running on fumes,

You are not alone. Yesterday Frank found a pair of scissors in the fridge. I can’t even blame it on the kids. It was me. Totally me. Who knows how they even ended up there. I just know that last week was jam-packed with way too much stuff, and it left me crazy scattered.

The point is – you’re not alone. I’m not alone. When you start to wonder how you are going to get every single thing done, and get every tiny human to the correct place at the correct time – remember that God has your back. This is just a crazy, busy season. A season that will go by too fast. One that we will eventually miss. A season that God has truly blessed us with.

So, fellow tired lady – embrace whatever season you are currently in. While you’re at it, extend yourself some grace – even when you leave scissors in the fridge.

“You will show me the way of life,

granting me the joy of your presence

and the pleasures of living with you forever.” – Psalm 16:11

Take the Time

It’s Monday. The beginning of a new week. As we venture out into whatever God has in store for us don’t forget that we have the power to change somebody’s outlook – for the good.

So…

Give the smile

Say hello

A simple head nod

A pat on the back

Open the door

A little compliment

Do anything to show that one person that they have been seen. That they are there. That they matter. To keep going. That everything is in fact going to be ok.

Take the time

Give the smile

Touch a soul

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Believe in your Miracle

This is what God has placed on my heart this morning:

1. Nothing – NOTHING – is too big for God.

2. Believe God for the miracle that you need.

3. Thank Him now.

I could write example after example of miracles He has performed throughout the Bible. I could write about miracles that I’ve seen in my short 36 years on this Earth. The bottom line is that He loves you as much as He loved Moses and Sarah and Daniel and David and even Lazarus.

He loves you. He is working on your miracle. Believe it.

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’”- Mark 10:27

Oppression

The Cambridge Online Dictionary states that oppression is a situation in which people are governed in an unfair and cruel way and prevented from having opportunities and freedom.

Guys. He is unfair, and he is cruel – and he wants you to believe that life is, too. Do not believe that mess.

Don’t allow satan to govern or control your life any longer. Step out in boldness today and claim the opportunities and freedom that God has promised you.

“But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.” – Psalm 146:5-7

Joy Unspeakable

Joy unspeakable.

Man, it just feels good. It feels good on the good days. It feels good on the bad days.

The peace. The hope. The confidence.

I don’t ever want to live a life without it. I don’t ever want to be faced with a situation and automatically label it bleak. Situations that arise will never be hopeless because I know who holds the future – and He is my very best friend.

Joy unspeakable, guys. Claim it today.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,” – 1 Peter 1:8

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

Get Ready

I finished the book Fervent Saturday night, and Sunday morning our pastor preached about spiritual warfare. I love when scriptures and topics that I’m studying align that way. Makes me wish I could high five someone right in the middle of church.

That book, that sermon, they didn’t whisper softly in my ear. They screamed a loud, urgent cry to be ready. They said that it’s time, and it’s up to us. Don’t take it lightly.

Get ready, ladies.

We are our families front line, so when our toes hit that faded, brown carpet in the morning – get ready. When we are tip-toeing to the coffee pot in the wee hours to brew that first cup – get ready.

Get ready. Get ready to cry out on behalf of your family. Get ready to stand in the gap. Get ready to pray intentional, strong prayers over our home, our husband, and our babies. Get ready for battle. If we won’t fight for our family – who will?

Every single day. Every single hour. Be ready.

“11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:11-12

Be You. Be Used.

The thing about self-doubt is it’s just that – SELF-doubt.

*Sarah’s age didn’t matter to God.

*Gideon’s occupation didn’t matter to God.

*David’s appearance didn’t matter to God.

*Rahab’s past didn’t matter to God.

*Moses’ tangled words didn’t matter to God.

You may see every reason why you can’t. You may see every single flaw, mistake, sin, shortcoming – every excuse.

But not God.

God sees a human that He created for a purpose. He sees an individual that can make a difference. He sees a heart that loves Him.

God sees the real you. The you that can move mountains. The you that can change the world. The you that can shake things up for the glory of His Kingdom.

Be you. Be used.

“But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” – 1 Peter 2:9

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Lead by Example

Some days I feel ill-equipped to navigate this journey called motherhood. I feel ill-equipped because the world is so much different now then when I was a child. It’s unfamiliar territory. Uncharted waters. No matter how uncertain I feel in some areas of this voyage, there is one thing I know without a doubt to be true – kindness, selflessness, and a love for Jesus should be valued and passed on to our children. By their parents. Intentionally. So, I’ve made these promises to my kiddos, and I am working hard to keep them in hopes of a brighter world for them to call home.

1. I promise I won’t talk about other human beings in an ugly way. Because if I do – then you will.

2. I promise I won’t degrade other people because of their race, their religion, their gender, or their socioeconomic status. Because if I do – then you will.

3. I promise not to bully anyone. Because if I do – then you will.

4. I promise to try my best to never make anyone feel less than. Because if I do – then you will.

5. I promise to pray for you every single day.

6. And I promise that even when I’m not with you – God is, and He is a good, good God. Even in the midst of what seems like a very bad world.

Lead by example. Treat people like Jesus would. And pray hard.

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

– Ephesians 4:29
