Be Still and Know
Sometimes I think that I need to work so hard and try to do everything possible to get things done. I think I’m fully in control of the things that happen in my life and do so much to make things work. (Totally wrong perspective.)
As a result, I leave myself feeling so worn out by how much I’m trying to control things and MAKE things happen instead of letting God handle them.
In Exodus 14:14 it says, “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
This verse really helps me see that if I give the things I’m worried about the most to the Lord, He IS going to fight for me and He WILL take care of it.
There’s no need for me to exhaust myself trying to make things happen when the Lord is fighting the battle I’m in.
Psalm 46:10 says this, “Be still and know that I am God…”
Honestly, those few words have given me so much peace during my life. Be still and know. The Lord is saying, “Stop overthinking, stop worrying, and stop overworking yourself. Be still and take a deep breath. I have it handled. I’m in control.”
Whenever you begin to feel like you have to make things work out or take control of a situation that’s happening, I encourage you to stop, take a deep breath and tell yourself, “Be still and know.”
Have the faith in God that he will do what He said He will do. He will fight for you and conquer whatever it is you’re facing. You just need to wait and trust him.
The best place we can put ourselves in this life is under the protection and care of the one who is willing to fight every battle for us. All He’s asking us to do is give Him our problems and fully trust Him to take care of them. ❤️
